Best of CAMA Results

bestofcama Nov 20, 2020

The first-ever Best of CAMA virtual event was a success. Congrats to Mary Thornley for a job well done as always. A big congrats to Crystal McKay and Andrew Campbell, who hosted the Virtual event and did a great job making us feel like we were right there with them.

We are sad to say that The Impact Farming Show did not win for our category, however, that is A-OK. Awards are the cherry on top. To me, Best of CAMA is all about the people. Once a year, we dress up, catch up on the year gone by, and celebrate each other's achievements. I have been in a few industries throughout my career, and nothing will ever compare with the Best of CAMA Gala and the fantastic group of people.

A big congrats go out to Linda Tityk for being selected as the 2020 Agri-Marketer of the year and to Brenda Trask for her CAMA Lifetime Achievement Award. Both of these ladies are pillars in our community, and I know everyone was proudly celebrating along with them as they received these much-deserved...

It's Best of CAMA 2020 Time!

bestofcama cama Nov 19, 2020

It's one of my favorite events of the year...Best of CAMA. Even though it looks a lot different this year, with virtual vs. in-person, I am still very excited to celebrate the best of Canadian agriculture marketing. So much hard work has gone into creating all the marketing that helps drive agriculture forward.

We are also super excited that The Impact Farming Show is a finalist in category 31 Specialty: Event, corporate, webinars, podcasts, or recorded program with Episode 77: "Telling Your Farm's Story" with Zach Johnson: The MN Millennial Farmer.

Good luck to all the finalists!

Stay tuned.....

Tracy

Here is an excerpt from the awards application...

.................

The Impact Farming Show interviews each guest in-person to create a professionally produced video and podcast interview. Rather than fancy editing and interviews filled with highlight reels, we aim to create un-edited and real conversations between our host and guest. Honest conversations that farmers relate to. Conversations that connect and IMPACT our audience of Canadian farmers.

One of our favorite videos is with Zach Johnson's Episode 77 titled "Telling Your Farm's Story."

Zach Johnson, Known to his 300,000+ followers on YouTube as the “Millennial Farmer,” is a...

2019 Best of CAMA Finalist

Finalist Announcement

The Best of CAMA Awards Finalists were announced yesterday evening. With that, we are extremely excited to share that "The Impact Farming Show" has been announced as a finalist for the “Audio/Video: Broadcast news, webinars, podcasts or taped programs” category.

The episode that is up for consideration is “A Farmer’s Journey Through Stress, Depression, and Anxiety” with Gerry Friesen from Winnipeg, Manitoba. This was episode 23 and it aired on January 9, 2019.

Here is a snapshot of this episode and why we felt that it deserved added recognition:

One of the most crucial and difficult subjects in the agriculture industry right now is mental health. More than any other profession, farming has the highest suicide rate of all. Even more unbelievable than that is the fact that farmer suicide rate is double that of suicides among veterans.

When we heard Gerry Friesen's very personal story and his courageous ability to speak...
